Facts About Life

April 16, 2016 Unknown 1 Comments

I've been meaning to do a post on life lessons so here it goes after much procrastination. There are some basic facts or lessons about life. Some learnt from personal experience , other people's experiences, books, movies, the list just goes on. I decided to share some of mine with you. About 90% of which were learnt from my personal experiences.

Many on these lessons exist and serve as daily reminders; some serve as a form of personal periodic affirmation on where we are coming from, where we are, and where we are going to; some lessons help with self discovery and development and some are heart breaking ( sometimes, its really painful when finally realize you have to let some things or people you love go). The beautiful thing about life lessons is that they never stop coming.
Learning only seizes when life ends.

1. God is the best thing that can happen to anyone.
Do I have a testifier in the house! This is an undisputable fact. Once you have in your life, things would begin to fall into place. Challenges would come but never see it as God trying to punish you for something. See challenges as a spring board for your promotion. They are only there to check if you're ready for the next big thing. There are three kinds of people in the world when it comes to handling challenges. The first kind see a wall (the challenge) and go back or camp beside the wall. The second kind, see the wall, try to go around it and if that's not possible they try to climb the wall (*shaking my head* There are no shortcuts. It's either you give up  because of the height of the wall or you fall). Then, the third kind of people, when faced with these "walls", try to push it down. If it doesn't fall, they take a few steps back and run toward the wall in an attempt to bring it down. If it still doesn't fall, they step back a second time  and run towards the wall but not with their strength alone. They run with the word of God in their heart and prayers in their mouths. These two serve as added advantages. In life, you can never not need them. Any need to stay what would happen to the wall?
So the choice is yours.

2. Love is the greatest gift life can give you.
Love here doesn't necessarily have to do with loving a man or woman. I mean having love in your heart. To love is an extraordinary ability. It means you putting everyone before yourself. Not just people you love but EVERYONE. When you love or are in love there's this inner peace that completely envelopes you. Its a beautiful feeling trust me.

3. Not all things last forever.
Well, Duh! Not everything is meant to last forever. The earlier you realize this the better. Most people waste time trying to salvage broken relationships or find lost friends. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing any of those things but knowing when to let go that is important.

4. The truth about misunderstandings.
This picture does the job of explaining perfectly.

5. You have the power to chart the course of your life.
Your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become you. Whether you believe it or not, it is what it is. The power to take you to where you want to be starts from your thoughts. Your thoughts, words, and actions should only be positive. Eventually you become an embodiment of positivity.

6. The past cannot be changed.
The best you can do is learn from your mistakes and move on. Stagnancy is not an option.

7. Never judge anyone.
Don't judge if you don't want to be judged. Simple principle.

8. You're the owner and producer for your happiness.
The power to be happy is in you. Not in friends, money, your job, a husband or boyfriend, or whatever. Don't get me wrong, those things can make you happy but don't base your happiness on them. What if they go? What next? So just do whatever makes you happy.

9.  Laughing and smiling never killed anyone.
In fact, scientifically speaking,  these two actions make you look younger.

10. Be kind! It's an obligation.

11. The hardest resources to manage are humans .
Human beings are hard to satisfy and they never stop demanding. Over the years, I've tried not to stress myself too much when it comes to handling and relating with other people. I try hard but I don't let it get to the neck-breaking point. I can be very friendly and playful but I know my boundaries. I honestly don't think I have the time and energy to handle other people's drama so I just stay clear.

These are just basic facts. Most people are familiar with then. For those who know these things it could serve as a sort of reminder and for those who don't, you could learn a thing or two. Afterall, we're all still learners.

If you got to the end of this post, it means you love me. I love you too. Thank you!
